Accomplishments: Managed the remodeling of 40 Life Time Fitness clubs, a nationally renowned premier health fitness club. Two of these projects were intensely redesigned from the North West Athletic club acquisition. Managed the construction of a 70-unit condominium building from inception, keeping the project on schedule and under budget despite uncontrollable setbacks; played a key role in more than 30 major design-build remodeling projects for both residential and commercial clients for Dale Gruber Construction; successfully managed the construction of more than 50 commercial projects for C&E Construction Managers.
Estimating: Consulted with clients on project scope and preliminary design; visited job sites to measure and photograph areas of construction or remodeling; analyzed past projects to determine approximate cost of proposed project; formulated costs, presented preliminary and final bids; created option sheets and selections binder for sales staff to use with clients.
Project Management: Applied for permits at local and regional planning offices; negotiated and hired contractors of all trades; consulted with clients to review schedule and room finishes; reviewed scope of project with and supervised field personnel; created detailed construction schedules; held periodic construction and owners’ meetings to keep the schedule on target and inform the clients of progress; coordinated shop drawings; approved all contractors’ invoices; created and implemented draw request forms in continuation-sheet format.
Training: Comfortable with the intricate details of remodeling as well as new commercial construction; familiar with the construction practices used in building multi-level condominium buildings; have background in such software systems as: Microsoft Project, Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Project Mates, Quattro Pro, Corel Draw, MS Picture It! Publishing, Outlook, Timberline, WinFax, and DataCAD.
